Job Description:
Overview:
Hybrid - will need to be flexible on days in office. Schedule Monday-Friday 40 hours/week.
Job Description Summary:
Oversees the disability and workers’ compensation program for the organization. Acts as a liaison between internal partners and third-party administrator to review records, investigates claims, and assists in the evaluation of current offerings. Serves as the point of contact for injured staff. Partners with multiple lines of business, in order to successfully administer LOA, FMLA programs. Reviews current process flow and makes enhancements as appropriate.
Job Description:
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes data and applies cost analysis to compare and evaluate benefits plans.
- Performs FMLA/LOA/STD/WC administration. Responds to routine inquiries, assists with billing past due insurance premiums and drafts/sends correspondence as needed.
- Serves as liaison and manages vendor relationship between Sedgwick and manager/staff for FMLA/STD/WC requests.
- Develops training and educational materials for managers, timekeepers, and employees. Maintains LOA intranet pages.
- Audits STD usage by staff. Monitors and counsels managers and staff on appropriate use of short-term disability under NCH policy.
- Collaborates with various service lines to develop new policies and practices, and to resolve complex situations. Counsels leaders on administering leave policies.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrates professional, sound judgment.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated proficiency in workers’ compensation, disability, FMLA, STD and LTD regulations.
High level of professionalism with the ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
Experience:
Three years of experience in workers’ compensation/FMLA administration, required.
Experience in a healthcare environment, preferred.
Experience with Lawson, Kronos, Sedgwick, preferred.
Project management experience, preferred.
