In this role, you''ll develop and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, securing five-figure and larger commitments that directly support Habitat''s mission. You''ll help drive fundraising success while partnering with leaders, board members, donors, and colleagues across our global network.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-net-worth individuals, with a focus on securing five-figure and larger gifts.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 to 125 qualified donor and prospect relationships across a defined U.S. territory.
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising and revenue goals through proactive donor engagement and relationship management.
  • Develop and implement solicitation strategies for major gifts, including diaspora gifts, campaign gifts, planned gifts, and financial products.
  • Guide the development of compelling donor proposals and oversee impactful stewardship and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate donor information, activity tracking, pipeline reports, and revenue forecasting through CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with board members, executives, donors, and cross-functional teams to identify prospects, strengthen relationships, and increase giving opportunities.
  • Supervise a junior Associate Development Officer role whenever such a role is available.

Location and Travel

This position is fully remote within the United States, with a preference to hire someone in the Midwest. You will have the flexibility to work from your home while collaborating with colleagues and partners across the country and around the world. There will be approximately 40% travel within the U.S.

What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising with 8+ years of experience, including 5+ years of frontline fundraising experience in a similarly complex environment.
  • Experience collaborating within a complex, matrixed organizational structure.
  • Proven success managing donor relationships and closing major gifts.
  • Personally closed $10 million+ in total fundraising revenue during your career.
  • Experience securing complex five- and six-figure commitments, including planned gifts, campaign gifts, endowment gifts, and investment options.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior leaders, board members, donors, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong development-related technology and CRM skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, collaborative, and able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated integrity, humility, and commitment to contributing to a diverse workforce.
  • Passion for Habitat for Humanity's mission and ability to inspire others to support it.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • CFRE Certification.
  • Experience working within a multi-national federated organization.

Hiring Range:

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate's qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the annual hiring range for this position is:

$97,300.00
