SENIOR CINEMATICS ANIMATOR
Location: United States (Remote)
Work Type: Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cinematics Animator to deliver character and creature acting in cinematic cutscenes. The role involves working with a cinematic layout artist partner to produce high-quality performances. This position requires both hand-key animation and animation from motion capture data.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with your cinematic layout artist partner in delivering high quality performances for our cinematic cutscenes.
- Animate both hand-key animation as well as animate from motion capture data.
- On occasion, work with Tech Art, Character team, and Creature team to test out rigs.
- Set up and implement animation files using Unreal, Unreal Sequencer, Autodesk Maya, and the Metahuman Performance Asset auto lip sync tool.
- Work with our proprietary Round Trip Tool to assist the layout artist with animation related issues.
- Implement feedback given by Cinematics management and the Cinematics Animation supervisor.
- Post captured work to review and contribute input and feedback at team meetings.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of relevant animation experience.
Technical Skills: A strong portfolio demonstrating skills in performance animation, both body and face, is required. Candidates must show strong lip sync animation ability. Proficiency in Maya and experience with an auto lip sync tool and Unreal are necessary. The role requires the ability to hand-key animate as well as augment motion capture and collaborate by taking direction from stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good sense of other cinematic related skills, such as editing, storyboarding, layout, camera, lighting, and audio collaboration.
- Passion for games, animation, and storytelling.
