Job Description:
We're looking for a high energy, detail-oriented and hands-on individual to join the accounting team as a Senior Accountant. This is a brand-new role created to support the company's growth. This role is based out of our New York Headquarters, is a hybrid position and will be reporting to the Controller.
Essential Responsibilities

Prepare period-ending (monthly/quarterly) journal entries and accruals with supporting reconciliations

Performs analytical review fluxes as required, including researching variances between both actuals' vs budget and actuals' vs actuals'

Support review of company transactions and documentation of accounting conclusions

Support annual audits and interact with external auditors as necessary

Develop and document business and accounting processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Maintain and/or ensure others maintain various tracking sheets/reporting used for financial reporting

Familiarity with project accounting and bookkeeping tasks such as reconciliations and journal entries in the ERP system

Detail understanding of various modules in the ERP system; how to use, identify irregularities, and adjust when required

Own the design and maintenance of controls over reporting of revenue and leases

Assist in forecasting and variance analysis for revenue, billings and collections
-
Maintain leasing schedules and perform monthly/quarterly journal entries
-
Assist with system ERP improvements and maintenance as needed

Conduct frequent ad hoc reporting and analysis

Partner with Finance with the management, assessment, and delivery of informational requests

Work cross-functionally with key internal business partners, such as other members in accounting, asset management, project finance and business systems on ongoing issues and/or initiatives to help drive to conclusion
Qualifications/Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting (CPA is a plus)

Public & Private accounting background
-
Previous experience in renewable energy industry is a plus

Proficient in MS Excel & experience working with large volumes of data inclusive but not limited to data tagging and filtering, XLOOKUP, SUMIF(s) and Pivots tables

Strong understanding of ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce)

Working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 & ASC 842

Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication, with a capacity to articulate issues and synthesize accounting concepts into concise and informative memos

Acute attention to detail and well-developed organization and time management skills

Must be self-motivated, flexible, deadline-oriented and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision

Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment, and align well with DSD's core values
