Revenue Processing Lead
Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Revenue Processing Lead. As a key member of the Payment & Collections unit, you will be responsible for payment remittance, processing returned payments, managing the vault, preparing daily deposits to the bank, cash handling, and providing support to multiple units, including the Payment & Collections team and the Utilities Customer Service Center.
In this position, you will directly influence and shape programs within Payment and Collections, which are essential to the business. As a Revenue Processing Lead, you will make an impact by:
- Ensuring that all payments are collected and processed promptly
- Managing the vault, which includes balancing monies to the Customer to Meter (C2M) System, daily bank deposits, accepting cash turn-ins, processing change orders, verifying balanced Lobby cashier drawers, cash handling, and assisting employees working the Lobby with cash drawer balancing
- Coaching, training, and evaluating employees through the unit's Training Readiness and Career Knowledge program
- Reviewing payment reports and researching payment-related issues or errors
- Balancing daily work for bank reconciliation
- Processing donations for Project COPE
- Processing returned payments, AutoPay applications, and ACH payments
- Evaluating the effectiveness of Utilities payment programs
- Managing assigned revenue programs by maintaining up-to-date process documents, evaluating the effectiveness of the program and identifying opportunities for optimization.
What will it take to be successful in this position? The ideal candidate will offer experience in payment processing and/or cash handling in a retail or banking environment, as well as demonstrate excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities. Of most interest are skills and abilities in the following areas:
- Ability to collaborate and inspire others to solve problems and make sound decisions
- Communicate professionally, clearly, and concisely both verbally and in writing
- Proficient abilities in Microsoft Excel
- Must be highly motivated, responsible, and graceful under pressure
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
- Demonstrated experience in Oracle Customer to Meter (C2M) is preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those required for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a small amount, a job should be rated Light Work when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it requires sitting most of the time, but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls and/or when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is small. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding work even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
- Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
