The financial experience of a patient often begins long before treatment. As a Revenue Cycle Supervisor , you will lead a team responsible for ensuring infusion patients across UVA Health receive timely financial clearance, helping eliminate barriers to care while supporting operational and revenue cycle excellence.

This leadership opportunity combines people development, workflow optimization, patient advocacy, and revenue cycle expertise . You will guide a team that plays a vital role in prior authorization, insurance verification, and financial clearance activities that directly impact patient access, organizational performance, and the overall patient experience.

The Role

As a Revenue Cycle Supervisor , you will oversee a team of 19 Preauthorization Coordinators supporting infusion services across UVA Medical Center and community-based locations. This team is responsible for financial clearance activities that help patients receive care without unnecessary authorization-related delays while supporting the financial health of the organization.

In this role, you will serve as the primary resource for team member questions, escalations, coaching, and performance management while ensuring quality, compliance, and service standards are consistently achieved. You will also help shape and maintain standard work, policies, and procedures that drive operational consistency and continuous improvement.

A typical day may include:

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of 19 revenue cycle professionals responsible for preauthorization and financial clearance activities.

• Managing staffing resources, productivity expectations, quality metrics, and service level goals.

• Serving as the first point of contact for employee escalations, patient concerns, and complex authorization issues.

• Monitoring work queues and workflows to ensure timely completion of financial clearance activities.

• Partnering with clinical teams, providers, operational leaders, and payers to resolve barriers impacting patient access.

• Creating, updating, and maintaining standard operating procedures and workflow documentation.

• Providing performance feedback, coaching, and development opportunities that support employee growth and accountability.

• Driving continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, reporting, and process optimization.

• Supporting compliance with payer requirements, regulatory expectations, and organizational policies.

• Ensuring patients receive clear communication regarding financial clearance and authorization-related matters.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience required. Supervisory experience preferred. Working knowledge of systems used in medical provider billing - CPT HCPCS ICD-9-10 and modifiers and thorough knowledge of third party billing and reimbursement is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: computer keyboard activity. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.

The pay range for this role is $48,462.00 - $96,925.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
