Job Description:
The Climate Bonds Initiative is an international NGO working to mobilise global capital for climate action. Our mission is to develop trusted standards, tools, and market intelligence that accelerate the transition to a climate-resilient and low-carbon economy.
The Resilience Product and Adoption Lead will lead on external adoption of the Climate Bonds Resilience Taxonomy (CBRT) and the resilience component of the Climate Bonds Taxonomy, as well as any new resilience products, to guide investment in climate Adaptation and Resilience (A&R). The overarching goal will be to ensure the uptake of these tools by ensuring they are fit-for-purpose, user-friendly and interoperable with the emerging approaches and decisions of a range of target stakeholders. The post will also support ad hoc technical advisory and consultancy services relating to resilience, especially in engaging financial institutions.
How you'll contribute
Develop and drive external uptake of resilience products
- Work with the cross-Climate Bonds teams to clarify a ‘product suite’ for resilience.
- Clarify for Climate Bonds commercial teams how to standardise a product range - leveraging the resilience taxonomy – to accelerate uptake by financial institutions.
- Work with other engagement teams across Climate Bonds, including but not limited to the regional teams and investor teams, seeking strategic entry and engagement with large-scale investors.
- Factor the thinking of regional and policy teams into evolving use cases for the CBRT (and / or resilience elements of the Climate Bonds Taxonomy).
- Support a ‘Certification Task Force’ or equivalent, that ensures robust and timely response to inbound queries around application of the resilience taxonomy.
Promote the full range of Climate Bonds resilience products (particularly the CBRT and the resilience elements of the Climate Bonds Taxonomy)
- Work with the relevant Climate Bonds Teams on a long-term strategy for visibility around the resilience taxonomy.
- Participate in external advisory groups and events to promote the CBRT and other taxonomy products related to resilience.
Ensure that CBRT development is aligned with due consideration to ‘product-market’ placement
- Cultivate relationships with financial institutions, investors, governments, and multilateral agencies who wish to adopt or incorporate the CBRT and the resilience component of the Climate Bonds Taxonomy in their operations and guidance.
- Based on this engagement, outline and strengthen specific use cases for the CBRT, clarifying which to invest in (and hence which not to prioritise). Do this by working with other engagement teams across Climate Bonds, including but not limited to the regional teams and investor teams.
- Institutionalise strong feedback loops within Climate Bonds to ensure that lessons from ‘external engagement’ with the CBRT are fed back into plans for further development of either the taxonomy or specific use cases (includes liaison with the Climate Bonds Data Team to ensure that market trends and the needs of the data customers are factored in).
- Direct and manage the evolution of the CBRT (as a tool / platform) to better serve user needs, as well as adapt to a world where AI is reshaping work patterns globally.
Contribute to a full suite of resilience products
- Work with the Head of Resilience to support the development of new resilience products, should a clear need be identified via market feedback and the internal resilience strategy.
Support resilience-related advisory work
- Work with capacity building, technical assistance and regional teams both to scope and deliver external engagement work, whether advisory, capacity building or other.
Support fundraising for the CBRT and related strategic partnerships
- Work with the Head of Resilience and fundraising teams to raise money for the further development of Work with the Head of Resilience to develop and deepen strategic partnerships that drive widespread adoption of the resilience taxonomy.
You should apply if you can demonstrate...
Essential:
- Undergraduate degree in any relevant subject.
- Experience working in finance or close to financial institutions
- Experience in external engagement to ensure uptake of knowledge products or services
