Title: Reporting Analyst - Credit Risk

Location: Melbourne, Bendigo, Sydney ,  Adelaide  Australia

Job ID: 2298

Business Unit: Credit & Market Risk

Job Family:  Data & Analytics

Employment Type:Maximum Term

Employee Class:  Full Time

Job Description:

We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for the end-to-end extraction, collation, and preparation of the Bank's credit risk data that will enable our teams to create accurate credit risk reports. Looking across all credit risk exposures, spanning Business, Agribusiness, and Consumer lending portfolios, and consolidate this data from various source systems into a unified credit risk dataset.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly processes: run processes and compile the credit risk dataset in the SAS environment. Conduct rigorous reconciliations to ensure accuracy, resolve anomalies, and identify underlying trends before data is released.
  • Semantic Modelling: Build and maintain the Power BI semantic model which populates Power BI reports used for credit risk reporting across the Bank, allowing other teams to seamlessly generate insights for credit committees and key stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement & Projects: Collaborate directly with the Central Data and Projects Lead on strategic initiatives, database enhancements, and structural data adjustments

This position can be based out of Melbourne, Bendigo, Sydney or Adelaide and is a full time.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.

What you’ll bring to the role

You are a technical data specialist with a knack for building clean, reliable data pipelines.  To be successful, you will bring:

  • Technical expertise: Hands-on experience with SAS, BigQuery  and Power BI platform capabilities - specifically in building and optimizing semantic models - is highly desirable, and SQL, Oracle SQL is a plus
  • System knowledge: Familiarity with banking data warehouses and source lending platforms (such as RFSB, Leasing, Optimist, ABC, GCP)
  • Lending domain knowledge: A solid understanding of the credit lending process and loan data attributes
  • Problem-solving & agility: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to easily adapt to new technologies and process changes.
  • Team-first attitude: A collaborative, flexible mindset and a genuine willingness to pitch in and support the broader team.

So, why work for us?

Want big impact that matters? Here, you’ll know your work directly benefits the customers and communities we all serve. You’ll also get access to a great range of benefits, including:

  • Health and wellbeing support, including discounted gym memberships, private health insurance options, and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your immediate family members
  • Opportunities to take your learning to the next level through our corporate university ‘BEN U’ or at an external provider of your choice

We believe a diverse workforce supported by an inclusive culture is central to our success and we actively encourage applications from those who bring diversity of thought to our business. We support candidate requests for adjustment to accommodate an illness, injury, or disability to equitably participate in the selection process.

Still in two minds?  Research suggests 60% of women and underrepresented groups might stop here, even after getting as far as drafting an application. We believe that diversity makes every team stronger, so even if you don’t tick every box, we still want to see your application

We’re making better, bigger. And we’ll get there with you.

Now’s the time to set your sights even higher – on the future you and the future career you deserve.
