About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with expertise in actuarial reporting to support the modernization of the reporting environment by transitioning actuarial measures and reports into our Segment Data Warehouse. The ideal candidate will combine technical acumen with actuarial knowledge to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance throughout the process.
Work Location: Remote but willing and able to primarily work east coast business hours
Duration: 6 months, likely to extend
Pay Rate Range: $70/hr-$90/hr
What You Will Work On
- Review current actuarial reports and calculations (primarily Excel and SQL-based).
- Clarify key calculation logic and underlying data relationships.
- Develop detailed functional requirements and acceptance criteria as needed.
- Provide instructions and clarification to developers for replicating reports within the Segment Data Warehouse.
- Validate that new reports and measures adhere to business requirements and expected outputs.
- Investigate discrepancies and assist in troubleshooting by performing detailed data analysis.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and manage the process through final signoff.
- Ensure timely communication and resolution of testing issues.
What You Will Bring
- 7+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on reinsurance or insurance industry, specifically in actuarial or reserving reporting processes.
- Strong understanding of actuarial calculations, data structures, and drivers behind reserving and financial reporting.
- Ability to translate complex business rules into clear, actionable requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience validating data accuracy and reconciling reports.
- High Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and familiarity with enterprise data warehouse environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify anomalies and recommend solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
