What we’re looking for:
We’re searching for an ambitious and innovative leader to manage the growth and expansion of the Regulatory Reporting team within Monzo Bank Europe DAC (MBEU).
With a dual reporting line to the MBEU CFO and the Group Director of Regulatory Reporting, the role includes responsibility for ensuring our horizon scanning and interpretation activities (e.g. Capital Requirements Regulation) are correctly reflected in our capital, liquidity and financial returns, and monitoring our adherence to the applicable rules on an ongoing basis. This includes identifying and defining any changes required to data and production quickly and safely.

You’ll play a key role by…
Horizon Scanning & Rule Interpretation

Rule Interpretation: Working with the group regulatory reporting team, proactively identify, interpret, and document regulatory rules (e.g. CRR) applicable to MBEU.

Advisory: Partner with product teams to assess and advise on the regulatory implications of new products and expansion plans (e.g. EU branches).

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Group Treasury, Risk, and other teams to navigate and agree upon complex or ambiguous regulations.
Data & Automation

Data Integrity: Understand business data requirements and partner with engineers and data scientists to source accurate and efficient data for regulatory reporting.

Automation: Lead the automation of regulatory returns, including implementation, maintenance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Controls & Governance Framework

Framework Ownership: Develop and maintain a robust governance and control framework that meets regulator expectations for reporting accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

Documentation: Work with the group regulatory reporting team to maintain formal associated documentation for all regulatory interpretations and reporting processes.
Production & Quality Assurance

Reporting Oversight: Review all capital, liquidity, and other regulatory returns to ensure compliance with current regulations.

Change Management: Ensure all process changes are implemented safely and quickly to maintain the integrity of production returns.
Team Leadership & Expansion

Act as a mentor and coach to the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, performance excellence, and professional growth

Ensure that regulatory reporting capacity and capability is fit for purpose as MBEU expands from Ireland into the EU through the establishment of Branches.
We’d love to hear from you if…
- You have experience understanding and operationalising a wide range of regulatory requirements and the associated reporting
- You have experience in the large-scale implementation and testing (UAT) of automated reporting solutions (AXIOM experience is desirable)
- You are able to propose dynamic solutions to problems and implement these changes quickly and safely
- You have excellent planning, organisation and time-management skills and are able to manage people on this basis
- You can demonstrate a proven track record of excellent team leadership and coaching skills with the ability to provide empathy and guidance
- You're excited to leverage technology to automate reporting and capital management with a track record of continuous process improvement
- You have a great eye for detail and are numerically astute
- Are self-motivated, ‘hands-on’ and take satisfaction in supporting colleagues, projects or tasks however big or small

This role will have a hybrid working model, based in our Dublin office
