  • Evaluate the adequacy, consistency, and effectiveness of Credit Review practices against established methodology, Division Standards, regulatory guidance, and internal policy expectations.

  • Assess whether reviews are appropriately risk-focused, supported by sound credit analysis, and demonstrate clear linkage between testing performed, Issues & Observations identified, and credit risk management conclusions reached.

  • Review the quality, sufficiency, and defensibility of workpapers, sampling approaches, analytical support, and evidence maintained within review files.

Methodology and Standards:

  • Determine compliance with Credit Review procedures, documentation standards, review protocols, and quality benchmarks.

  • Assess consistency in the application of rating methodologies, Issue severity determinations, root cause analysis, and final report conclusions.

  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or process weaknesses that may impact the

Reporting and Feedback:

  • Prepare clear, concise, and actionable quality assurance reports summarizing assessment results, identified deficiencies, thematic observations, and recommendations for enhancement.

  • Present quality assurance findings and trend analysis to Head of CRAD.

  • Track recurring issues and common themes to inform broader Division training, methodology refinement, process improvement initiatives, and/or required action to remediate findings.

  • Maintain reporting metrics and dashboards to support transparency into overall quality performance across the Division.

Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with CRAD senior leadership to support the ongoing enhancement of quality standards, review templates, guidance documents, and procedural expectations.

  • Recommend changes to strengthen analytical rigor, consistency of execution, and documentation discipline across review teams.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of CRAD's Quality Assurance framework, including annual QA plans, testing criteria, and scorecards.

Reporting

  • Engage constructively with reviewers, portfolio monitoring officers, and review leaders to communicate quality assurance observations and promote remediation of identified gaps.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource on Division methodology, quality expectations, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Credit Review, Credit Risk Management, Credit/Loan Review, Regulatory Examination or Quality Assurance/Oversight functions within financial services.

  • Familiarity with commercial credit risk, underwriting, portfolio management, banking regulatory expectations related to independent credit review and risk governance.

  • Experience designing or executing formal quality assurance programs, assessing complex analytical work, testing execution quality, and challenging risk conclusions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize quality observations into concise executive reporting.

  • High degree of professional skepticism, independence, and attention to detail.
