Our work depends on a Project/Task Manager joining our team to support our customer activities in Washington, DC.  This position can be worked Remote. 

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a project/task manager supporting our customer, you will perform system development management duties.  In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Strong technical, administrative, and operational management, including contract management
  • Serve as SME for the Development team on various projects
  • Participating in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, schedules and administrative reporting
  • Manage a geographically distributed team with remote access
  • Partner with other organizational teams to coordinate project activities
  • Attending customer meetings and serving as a technical client liaison
  • Mentor developers on the team to work efficiently and streamline the development process
  • Planning and prioritizing new projects and upgrades
  • Providing recommendations to client on task workload
  • Managing risk tracking and mitigation processes
  • Coordinating the development of deliverables and products
  • Ensuring quality assurance of project deliverables
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • Participate in overall contract Agile/Scrum processes and ensure CI/CD practices are followed for releases.
  • Facilitate customer collaboration and resolve issues to minimize schedule impact.
  • Performing high-level technical services on assigned task(s)

HOW A PROJECT/TASK SUPERVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned project.
  • Effectively manages the software development team, a senior team of highly skilled developers, by using a detailed technical understanding of the software development process and environment.
  • Responsible for overseeing the software development process while using a Spring framework for the system and development is in JAVA and Hibernate. 
  • Properly utilizes Agile Workflow, Jira, and Confluence for assignment and tracking of tasks and capturing requirements.  
  • Fully participates in all aspects of the development projects. 
  • Is able to analyze and model complex multi-dimensional problems from business and technical perspective to design and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Can articulate, document structure and behavior of proposed products and create plans and initiatives and deliver them to client.
  • Collaborates with other teams on continuous process improvement strategies, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures for moderately complex business process engagements.

EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS (technical discipline preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Development Lifecycle (Agile)
  • 5+ years of documented management or leadership experience (Product Management, Project Management, Team Leadership, or similar)
  • Strong organizational skills along with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Technical Skills:

  • Spring Framework, Java, Hibernate, Oracle, SQL, React, Cloud Services (AWS), Jira, Confluence
  • PMP and/or CSM Certification preferred
  • Jira or AWS DevOps to manage software development lifecycle activities.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with refugee and immigrant populations and/or social programs, a plus
  • Knowledge of procurement/acquisition processes desired

  • Security Clearance Level: successful candidate will be required to undergo public trust investigation
  • Location: Remote (workday operates on Eastern Time Zone) 
  • Familiarity with serving as a consultant or contractor in the Federal Government desired

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
