Join Trissential and Help Shape the Future of Wildfire Mitigation Technology
Trissential is seeking a Product Portfolio Manager – Wildfire Mitigation Technology to join our client’s team and lead a portfolio of technology solutions that support wildfire mitigation, operational response, and data-driven risk management.
This role sits at the intersection of technology strategy, utility operations, and public safety. You will guide a suite of applications and vendor platforms that help the organization monitor wildfire risk, protect critical infrastructure, and support emergency response decision-making.
While the organization has historically referred to this role as a Product Owner, the position functions more broadly as the portfolio lead for wildfire technology capabilities, overseeing multiple solutions, coordinating delivery initiatives, and aligning stakeholders across operations, IT, and wildfire leadership.
If you are energized by mission-driven work, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to shape technology strategy in a high-visibility domain, this role offers the chance to make a real impact.
What’s In It for You
- Lead strategy across a portfolio of wildfire mitigation technologies
- Contribute to initiatives that directly support public safety, grid reliability, and regulatory compliance
- Influence how a growing wildfire technology portfolio is structured and managed
- Work alongside leaders in wildfire operations, emergency response, vegetation management, and technology delivery
- Help mature portfolio processes, product governance, and delivery practices within a critical operational domain
Your Role & Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy & Product Leadership
- Lead the strategic direction and roadmap for a portfolio of wildfire technology capabilities.
- Align technology solutions with the organization’s wildfire mitigation strategy and operational priorities.
- Evaluate emerging business needs and translate them into prioritized technology initiatives.
- Ensure technology investments support both operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Technology Portfolio Oversight
Manage and evolve a suite of technology platforms supporting wildfire risk mitigation and operational decision-making, including solutions related to:
- Public-facing outage maps and GIS platforms
- Fire risk modeling and analytics tools
- Meteorology and weather data platforms
- Vegetation management and asset risk modeling
- Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) capabilities
- Data aggregation and wildfire risk intelligence platforms
Ensure these capabilities work together to provide reliable insights for operations and emergency response teams.
Delivery & Initiative Alignment
- Partner with program managers and project managers to guide delivery of initiatives across the wildfire technology portfolio.
- Help prioritize work across multiple initiatives and delivery teams.
- Ensure project outcomes align with strategic objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Support backlog prioritization and roadmap alignment within a hybrid Agile / project delivery environment.
Vendor & Platform Management
- Manage relationships with vendors providing wildfire technology solutions.
- Oversee software subscriptions, licensing agreements, and platform capabilities.
- Ensure vendor roadmaps align with internal technology and operational strategies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT and wildfire business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams across wildfire leadership, operations, vegetation management, emergency response, and technology delivery.
- Facilitate discussions around product priorities, technology enhancements, and long-term roadmap decisions.
- Communicate portfolio progress, roadmap updates, and solution capabilities across the organization.
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
You don’t need to check every box to apply—if you have strong wildfire or utility domain experience and portfolio leadership exposure, we encourage you to submit your resume.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, technology portfolio management, or IT delivery leadership roles.
- Experience working within the utility or energy sector, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Experience supporting technology platforms related to wildfire exposure, grid risk, emergency response, or operational risk mitigation.
- Familiarity working within Agile, hybrid Agile, or project-based delivery environments.
