Job Description:

We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success – and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

Data center power needs are changing rapidly, creating an opportunity to develop a new product offering from the ground up. Join nVent’s Data Center Solutions business as a Product Manager III, where you will turn industry trends and customer insights into a clear product strategy and help bring new DC power solutions to market. Here is a chance to shape what we build, how we position it, and how the portfolio develops as the business grows

** You will work a hybrid schedule, with four days per week on-site in Raleigh, NC or Anoka, MN. **

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Own the strategy and multi-year roadmap for the global DC power portfolio, using market trends, customer needs, competitive intelligence, and financial analysis to guide priorities and investment decisions.
  • Lead market segmentation, discovery, and Voice of the Customer efforts, translating technical and commercial needs into product requirements, value propositions, and differentiated solutions.
  • Guide product development and commercialization from opportunity definition and financial justification through launch and market introduction.
  • Build alignment across engineering, sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, finance, and other product teams to set priorities, resolve trade-offs, and maintain progress in an evolving market.
  • Develop the go-to-market foundation for the product line, including target markets, positioning, pricing strategy, sales enablement, demand assumptions, and launch plans.
  • Evaluate suppliers and partners with engineering, operations, and supply chain, considering product fit, technical requirements, economics, scalability, quality, and roadmap alignment.
  • Own the product line’s financial performance through revenue planning, margin and cost analysis, pricing, forecasting, and investment recommendations.
  • Manage the portfolio beyond launch by monitoring adoption, performance, profitability, and lifecycle needs, adjusting the roadmap as customer and technology needs evolve.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or similar field.
  • 7+ years of related experience, including direct product management responsibility for an engineered, hardware-based, or industrial product line.
  • Experience owning upstream and downstream product management, including market and customer research, product strategy, roadmaps, new product development, commercialization, and lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated financial ownership of a product or portfolio, including pricing, revenue, margin, cost analysis, and forecasting.
  • Experience translating customer and market needs into solutions and partnering with engineering to evaluate technical requirements, constraints, and trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating complex initiatives across multiple functional teams and navigating ambiguity in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience with data center infrastructure, electrical power distribution, power electronics, critical infrastructure, or related industrial technologies is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel.

WE HAVE:

  • A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day

    • nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions. We believe our inventive electrical solutions enable safer systems and ensure a more secure world.
