We’re currently focused on product modernisation, driving growth and building infrastructure for the next 10 years of community-powered modding.
Our Role:
We’re looking for a Product Designer who’s excited about creating meaningful user impact through thoughtful, high quality product experiences. You’ll work across key initiatives that shape acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention across both web and desktop experiences.
You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to identify user problems, contribute ideas, and help design solutions that improve both the user experience and product performance. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong craft fundamentals, curiosity, and a desire to grow within a collaborative product environment.
This role sits at the intersection of user-centred design, problem solving, and experimentation. You’ll use research, feedback, and data to uncover insights, simplify workflows, and help teams iterate toward better outcomes through continuous learning and testing.
Role Responsibilities
- Contribute to end-to-end product design work across growth and engagement initiatives for desktop and app experiences.
- Support the identification of opportunities across the user lifecycle through research, analytics, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Design and iterate on user flows, interfaces, and experiments aimed at improving activation, engagement, and retention.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Community teams to translate ideas and requirements into clear, intuitive experiences.
- Help simplify complex systems and workflows into accessible and user-friendly designs.
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity UI designs, prototypes, and production-ready assets using modern design tools.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of the design system to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Participate in design critiques, workshops, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
- Engage with the modding community to better understand creator and user needs, and help translate those insights into product improvements.
Role Requirements
Requirements:
- Experience in product design, UX/UI, or digital design roles, ideally within consumer-facing products.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design, user-centered thinking, and clear problem-solving.
- Experience designing digital experiences for web and/or desktop platforms.
- Good understanding of UX principles, interaction design, accessibility, and modern UI patterns.
- Proficiency in Figma and modern collaborative design workflows.
- Comfortable working with Product Managers and Engineers in agile, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Interest in experimentation, user behaviour, and how design impacts product outcomes.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and proactively driving work forward.
- Familiarity with prototyping tools such as Framer, Cursor, Lovable, or similar is a plus.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience working on growth, onboarding, engagement, or conversion-focused product areas.
- Familiarity with GitLab or similar collaboration and issue-tracking tools.
- Interest in gaming, modding communities, or familiarity with Nexus Mods.
Benefits of Working at Nexus Mods
Benefits:
- We work a 4-day week of 32 hours, with no reduction in pay.
- An allowance of £25 each month to spend on video games.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Private BUPA healthcare for you and your family.
- A very flexible training budget.
- Regular social events throughout the year. Participation is optional!
