Whether you’re launching your consulting career or bringing decades of experience, Cutter is a place where you can thrive.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Principal Consultant with strong technical expertise in financial services platforms, data management, and modern cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake, SQL, Python). You will lead end-to-end data and cloud transformation initiatives, including defining target operating models (TOM), future-state architecture, and overseeing implementation across data platforms and investment systems. The ideal candidate has grown from a technical background (engineering, development, or architecture) into consulting, customer success, or relationship management, bringing both credibility with technical teams and influence with executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements from opportunity shaping through delivery, ensuring alignment of Cutter’s capabilities with client business objectives.
  • Drive proposal and statement of work creation, ensuring clear articulation of deliverables, scope, and business value.
  • Define and communicate future-state architecture and data strategies, bridging business objectives with scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience designing and implementing modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Lake), including data pipelines, governance, and integration patterns.
  • Partner with practice leads and delivery teams to ensure successful execution and high client satisfaction.
  • Lead complex, multi-workstream transformation programs, coordinating internal teams, external vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Cultivate and expand long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor at both executive and operational levels.
  • Represent Cutter in industry forums, thought leadership events, and client workshops.
  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including mentoring, recruitment, and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep expertise in asset management data ecosystems, including portfolio, performance, and investment data across front, middle, and back office systems (AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
  • Hands-on skills in SQL, Python, or related scripting/automation for data workflows.
  • Ability to bridge technical and business audiences, translating complex capabilities into compelling client propositions.
  • Proven success building client relationships and supporting revenue growth.
  • Executive presence, business writing skills, and comfort engaging with senior stakeholders.

Benefits at a Glance:

Our benefits vary slightly by location but are designed to support your health, financial wellness, and life outside of work. Highlights include:

  • Competitive salary with annual performance bonus and profit-sharing opportunity
  • 401(k) match (U.S.) or Superannuation contributions (Australia)
  • A generous paid time off package that includes vacation days, sick leave, company holidays, and time off for volunteering
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (U.S.), or regionally competitive coverage (U.K. and Australia)
  • Long-term disability and life insurance fully paid by the company (U.S.)
  • Flexible work model - fully remote with optional access to co-working spaces or offices
  • Global collaboration and travel opportunities across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

Compensation: The anticipated base compensation range for this role is $195-000-$260,000, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, market conditions, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined based on individual background and alignment with the role’s responsibilities.
