About the Role
Title: Performance Engineer - EDA workloads
Location: Austin United States
Category: Hardware Engineering
Job Description:
Arm is looking for a Performance Engineer to help optimize compute, storage, and workflow performance across our engineering platform. You'll focus on identifying inefficiencies, diagnosing bottlenecks, and supporting improvements across large-scale compute clusters and cloud environments.
This role is part of our broader effort to improve infrastructure efficiency and support the evolving demands of high-throughput workloads, including verification and implementation workloads.
You'll work closely with architects, infrastructure teams, and flow owners to analyze real-world usage and help ensure our systems are tuned for performance and scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze performance of compute and storage infrastructure in production
- Identify areas for tuning based on metrics and system behavior
- Support improvements to job configurations and scheduling efficiency
- Help develop tooling and dashboards to surface performance trends
- Collaborate with platform and flow teams to validate and document findings
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with EDA tooling and workflow patterns.
- Experience with EDA workflows or engineering compute pipelines.
- Experience working in Linux-based environments, particularly in performance-sensitive contexts
- General experience working in compute or storage-heavy environments
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Linux-based telemetry
- Familiarity with profiling tools
NICE TO HAVE:
- Knowledge of how engineering teams use simulation tools or other high-throughput workloads
- Ability to troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, or network performance
- Exposure to basic job scheduling systems (e.g., LSF, Jenkins, SLURM)
IN RETURN:
You'll work on meaningful technical challenges in a supportive and fast-paced environment. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge compute infrastructure and the opportunity to grow into a more senior performance or systems architecture role over time.
Salary Range:
$126,100-$170,500 per year
