Title: Partner, Program Manager - Program Management & Events
Remote
The Partner, Program Management at ActBlue is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading and executing high-priority, cross-functional programs and events that advance ActBlue's strategic and operational goals. Sitting on the Office of the Executive team and reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Partner works closely with leaders across the organization to design program strategies, coordinate execution, and communicate progress and impact.
This individual will serve as a strategic thought partner and subject matter expert across both program management and event strategy - contributing to program planning, translating organizational priorities into actionable workstreams, and owning the end-to-end execution of high-visibility internal and external events. The Partner will lead complex, high-priority work - navigating ambiguity, developing standards and guidance where needed, and making decisions with consideration of broad organizational implications.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Program Management
- Lead high-priority, cross-functional program development by defining goals, success metrics, scope, and benchmarks for initiatives that support ActBlue's organizational and operational goals; hold accountability for execution quality across multiple workstreams.
- Contribute to the development of ActBlue's operational roadmap, translating organizational strategy into actionable program plans and supporting execution across the organization.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration, enabling clear communication, decision-making, and accountability across departments and with senior members of the organization.
- Incorporate diverse stakeholder perspectives to drive business results, consistently applying ActBlue's practices, historical context, and stakeholder needs in decision-making.
- Develop tools, templates, and planning resources that establish standards and improve program management practices across the organization.
- Build and manage detailed program plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource considerations.
- Identify and mitigate program risks, proactively resolving issues and escalating tradeoff decisions to senior stakeholders as appropriate.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to leaders across the organization, providing analysis on program performance, organizational trends, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Foster stakeholder alignment, bringing together diverse perspectives and leading through influence across teams.
- Continuously evaluate programs using data and stakeholder feedback, adapting strategies to improve impact and efficiency.
Event Strategy & Execution
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of high-visibility internal events - including all-staff gatherings and organizational offsites - ensuring they are strategically purposeful, operationally seamless, and reflective of ActBlue's culture and values.
- Support external event programming for partner and customer audiences, contributing to experiences that advance ActBlue's relationships, brand, and mission.
- Develop event management standards, playbooks, and vendor relationships that enable consistent, high-quality execution across event types and audiences.
- Define success metrics for events and produce post-event analyses that capture ROI, stakeholder feedback, and lessons learned.
- Partner with Communications, Marketing, People & Culture, and senior leadership to ensure event content, logistics, and attendee experience align with organizational messaging and goals.
- Manage event budgets with rigor, negotiating contracts and vendor relationships to maximize impact within resource constraints.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum of 6 - 8 years of deep, specialized experience in cross-functional program or project management
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing high-visibility internal and external events, including executive convenings and organizational offsites
- Proven track record of advising and supporting senior leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to introduce and leverage tooling in the program management process (AI, Airtable preferred)
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools; experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Demonstrated ability to define KPIs, benchmarks, and success metrics for high-visibility initiatives and to hold accountability for outcomes with broad organizational impact
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
- High emotional intelligence and discretion, particularly in handling sensitive or confidential information
- Ability to think strategically and operate effectively through ambiguity
- Ability to manage complex event logistics - including vendor management, budget oversight, and stakeholder coordination while maintaining focus on outcomes
- Experience developing event playbooks and scalable frameworks that elevate execution quality
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
