Essential Functions and Primary Duties
-
Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance and financial close process.

Prepare or review client's internal financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards
-
Assist clients with developing and/or managing the organization's budget and providing financial and forecast (as needed)
-
Coordinate reporting requirements with external auditors and tax accountants (as needed)
-
Make recommendations for changes as needed, and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
-
Maintain client relationships and assist with engagement billings
-
Manage various outsourced accounting services engagements and facilitate training of outsourced accounting team members (as needed)

Assistance with Job costing, including:
-
Review of indirect cost allocation
-
Review of posting of direct labor costs and use of labor burdens
-
Understanding of contract budgeting process
-
Evaluation of costs to complete
-
Contract change order and budget adjustment impact
-
Review of reasonableness of revenue adjustments
-
Review of union payroll and certified payroll reporting and related filings
-
Assists clients with banking and bonding company financial requests
Preferred Qualifications
-
A hybrid of public accounting and private company experience
-
Hands-on experience with various accounting processes, such as accounts payable, billing, payroll and financial close
-
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP. Familiarity with financial audit/review reporting needs, is a plus
-
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
-
Organized and able to manage multiple projects and good interpersonal skills
-
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
-
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-
Experience with QuickBooks, Xero and Bill.com is a plus
-
Experience with commonly used ERP systems such as Computerease, CMIC, Foundations, Acumatica is a plus
-
Work experience with medium-large size construction/real-estate industry businesses is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree
-
6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
-
3 years supervisory experience
-
Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
-
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
-
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
-
Proficient use of applicable technology
