About the role:
Rabobank’s Global Service Centre, Asia Pacific, based in Sydney, provides operational support to Wholesale & Treasury businesses & their clients across the Asia Pacific region. The Accounts & Payments team within Corporate Banking Services manages wholesale account servicing & payment processing.
As Officer, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, & compliant payment & account services for Wholesale Banking clients across the Asia Pacific region. Operating within a regional market environment - supporting Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong & Singapore - the role ensures smooth execution of domestic & cross border transactions & upholds the bank’s commitment to secure & reliable payment operations.
The team works Monday to Friday from 12:30pm to 9pm so you must be willing & able to work hours these hours to support the Asia time zone. As we have a hybrid work environment, you will work a mix of days in the office & days from home.
Top Role Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Process domestic & cross-border payments across multiple platforms e.g. e.g., SWIFT, RTGS, CHATS & FPS accurately & on time
- Monitor end-to-end transaction flows & resolve issues promptly to minimise disruption
- Meet all processing & settlement deadlines in line with SLAs
- Investigate & resolve reconciliation breaks, cash discrepancies, & transaction issues
- Support exception handling & reconciliation in partnership with Operations & Technology
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, client interactions, & procedures
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Corporate Banking Services & the wider business
- Support Relationship Managers & Client Services with payment-related queries
- Assist with client onboarding, ensuring correct documentation & payment channel setup
- Provide clients with guidance on payment formats, cut-off times, & regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal policies & external regulations (AML, Sanctions)
- Escalate & investigate suspicious or high-risk transactions with Risk & Compliance
To Be Successful, you will have:
- 2+ years’ experience in an operations within Corporate, Wholesale or Institutional Banking
- An understanding of corporate payments & account products
- Knowledge of corporate banking systems & payment rails (SWIFT, RTGS, FPS, CNAPS, Direct Entry)
- Regional (Asia) payments or client coverage experience highly regarded
- Excellent attention to detail & an ability to work to a high level of accuracy
- Strong communication & stakeholder management skills
- An ability to prioritise, manage pressure, & meet strict deadlines
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
- Previous experience supporting countries within Asia Pacific preferable
- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills preferred
- Willingness & ability to work 12:30pm - 9pm Monday to Friday (mix of in office & at home)
