The Role at a Glance
This position supports Lincoln’s network operations team. As a member of this team, this role be responsible for developing, automating, and maintaining network infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in both network administration as well as software development and automation skills.
What you'll be doing
- Supports delivery and administration of an enterprise network inclusive of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS appliances within both datacenter and campus architectures.
- Experience as a technical escalation resource for a front-line network support team.
- Experience with enterprise grade network solutions from vendors such as Cisco, F5, Infoblox, Palo Alto, Arista.
- Experience deploying and maintaining vendor management tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center, Palo Alto Panorama.
- Experience in utilizing and interpreting alerts and logs from telemetry tools such as SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Nagios, NewRelic.
- Builds and evangelizes Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts throughout the network domain, being a subject matter expert (SME) for IaC principles as they exist within the network domain.
- Partners with senior network engineers to develop (IaC) discipline within the network domain, focusing on identifying areas where IaC concepts can accelerate delivery, reliability, and security.
- Partners with senior network engineers in support of emerging IaC discipline to develop Github repositories, Ansible playbooks, and overall build and maintain a healthy CI/CD pipeline within compliance of Lincoln security policy.
- As IaC SME, will develop documentation and reference material, updating in accordance with Lincoln policy & standards guidelines, as well as technology changes dictate.
- Works with Lincoln’s managed service provider (MSP) to hand-off technologies and support documentation as applicable.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
- Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects.
- Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality.
- Serves as a resource to administer and maintain security of devices within span of responsibility.
- Identifies potential solutions for their assigned area of Infrastructure responsibility by understanding increasingly complex business/technical problems and opportunities.
- Provides input and validates increasingly complex project plans, test plans and implementation plans including estimates on time frames, needed resources and budgets.
- Serves as an escalation point for more complex issue resolution.
- Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and management.
- Analyzes more complex data to determine key requirements to store and access data and communicate that information to management.
- May require after hours to support maintenance windows, on-call rotations.
What we’re looking for
Must Haves:
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
- 3 - 5+ Years of experience in IT system administration and/or IT infrastructure that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.

The pay range for this position is $94,875 - $151,800 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
