About the role
We're seeking a Modern Workplace Engineer to play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft‑based workplace and collaboration solutions across Perpetual Group. Reporting to the Modern Workplace Lead, this role sits at the intersection of technology strategy, solution design and hands‑on delivery.
You'll work across modern desktop environments, cloud, and collaboration platforms to translate strategic direction into secure, scalable, and user‑centric solutions. This role combines operational support, technical design, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic enterprise environment.
Key responsibilities:

Support workplace and collaboration services, managing escalations from the service desk as required

Define, uplift and document support processes for in‑scope services

Develop detailed design documentation for new and existing workplace services

Deliver proof‑of‑concepts to assess feasibility of proposed solutions

Define and maintain workplace and collaboration standards, policies and guidelines aligned with Perpetual security requirements

Develop automation artefacts that contribute to broader automation and orchestration practices

Participate in design forums and architecture governance to ensure solutions align with standards

Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across technology, security and business teams
About you
We're looking for someone with:
-
3+ years' experience in IT roles, including at least 2 years working hands‑on with modern workplace and collaboration technologies.

Microsoft certifications (M365, Office 365, Azure) is highly desired
-
Strong experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft‑based solutions, including M365, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and modern desktop environments.

Exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop and securing cloud‑based workplace solutions.

Experience producing detailed technical designs, documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
-
Familiarity with automation and scripting to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Strong understanding of workplace security, with knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services desirable.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
