Position Summary
The Marketing Communications Manager collaborates across departments to create and implement marketing communications strategies that elevate Achieva's mission, programs, and community impact. This position ensures consistent, accessible, and mission-driven messaging that reflects the organization's vision, priorities, and person-centered philosophy. The Marketing Communications Manager reports to the Director of Digital Communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Creates and distributes internal and external marketing materials for the agency and its programming, including but not limited to e-newsletters, magazine articles, blog content, and website copy.
- Writes across various genres, including feature writing, news writing, long-form and short-form storytelling.
- Proactively collaborates with business units across the Achieva Family of Organizations to assist with their marketing communications goals and ensure accuracy of published content both internally and externally.
- Interviews employees, people we support, donors, and community members for print and digital publications, including creating or coordinating video.
- Creates accurate and timely updates to website content and collaborates with the Director of Digital Communications on website strategy, including user experience, accessibility, and SEO/GEO/AEO best practices.
- Produces SEO + GEO-driven website content for addition via Achieva's content management system.
- Writes and/or edits copy for various web and social platforms tailored to specific audiences, ensuring consistent messaging, grammar, and style.
- Aids Achieva leadership and departmental representatives with writing, editing, and content creation to ensure brand consistency and proper message distribution.
- Manages an email marketing schedule of external and employee newsletters that align with the goals and objectives of the Advancement Department, incorporates A/B testing, and advises on improvements to email campaigns.
- Tracks and reports on email marketing performance. Provides reports on other projects as required.
- Develops event signup forms and manages audiences to expand and segment mailing lists.
- Provides event-related marketing support, including creating collateral materials, coordinating photography and video shoots, managing event-related website content, and ensuring design consistency.
- Supports advocacy and outreach initiatives, particularly when the organization is involved in social issues.

- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of three (3) years of communications or marketing experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Strong knowledge of current communications, marketing practices, nonprofit communication strategies, and project management best practices.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with varied teams and work styles.
- Excellent project and deadline management abilities; experience working with a project management system such as Trello or Monday.
- Knowledge of the latest marketing trends and how to leverage them as part of an overall business strategy.
- Excellent computer skills, including word processing, web-based technologies, and desktop publishing.
- Hands-on experience with email marketing tools, CMS platforms, and SEO/GEO/AEO best practices.
- Basic video editing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HTML and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) is a plus.
- Familiarity with the disability community is preferred but not required.
- Satisfactory Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and a vehicle available for daily use. Some local travel is required.
