An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Manager, Operational Risk Governance to play a critical role in strengthening risk management practices across our Technology & Operations (T&O) division.
As part of Line 1 Risk, you'll support and enable effective risk management practices and a strong risk culture across T&O. You'll lead a team of risk specialists, work closely with senior leaders and 2nd Line Risk, and ensure strong oversight of technology, data and information security controls in line with IAG's Risk Management Framework.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne).
What You'll Do
- Own the divisional risk governance engine for the T&O division - ensuring alignment to IAG'S Group Risk Management Strategy and Framework (GRMFS),
- Lead high-impact reporting - delivering crisp, insight-driven outputs to executive and board-level forums,
- Shift risk from static to dynamic risk management - design and embed KRIs that provide real-time visibility of control effectiveness and risk appetite performance,
- Shape risk maturity and culture at scale - partner with CIO-aligned risk teams to embed consistent, high-quality risk management practices across the division,
- Be the point of integration - connect Line 1, Line 2, Line 3 and regulatory expectations into a forward-looking risk approach
- Lift the bar on independent assurance and framework compliance - lead responses to regulatory engagement, divisional risk profiling, and compliance cycles
- Build and inspire a high-performing team - developing risk specialists into trusted, commercially aware risk and governance professionals
- Drive continuous improvement - reimagine risk management and governance using data, automation and AI
What You'll Bring
- Significant experience in operational risk, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of technology, data and information security risk
- Proven people leader experience
- A track record of influencing at executive level with clear, concise communication
- Experience preparing executive and board‑level risk reporting
- Solid understanding of three lines of defence and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. CPS220, CPS230, CPS234)
