Position Summary:

This includes investigating claims, determining liability, negotiating settlements, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Key Responsibilities:

  •  Claim Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into liability claims, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing relevant documentation to determine the validity and extent of liability.
  • Liability Assessment: Evaluate the merits of each claim, assess liability exposure, and collaborate with legal counsel and insurance providers to develop appropriate strategies for resolution.
  • Negotiation and Settlement: Engage in negotiations with claimants, their legal representatives, and insurance adjusters to achieve fair and reasonable settlements in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of claim activities, correspondence, and settlements. Prepare comprehensive reports for management, legal counsel, and insurance providers as required.
  • Compliance and Legal Requirements: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing liability claims management. Stay informed about legal developments and emerging trends in the field.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential areas of risk and implement proactive measures to minimize exposure to liability claims. Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies based on claim trends and analysis.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and claimants to facilitate effective communication and resolution of claims. Provide guidance and support to colleagues involved in the claims process as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance, Legal Studies, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPCU, ARM, AIC) preferred.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Phase 3: Top candidates will be invited to participate in a team and experiential interview process. This stage includes an experiential exercise that will be provided in advance, followed by a 1-hour interview with the Hiring Manager and SVP of Claims. Candidates will also meet with additional members of the Claims team. The entire interview series is expected to take approximately 2 hours.
