About The Role
Draganfly Innovations is on the lookout for a Lead Accountant to join our Finance team on a 16-month maternity leave coverage. This is a fully remote position reporting to the VP, Finance. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on cost accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership.
This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and audit processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while contributing to the overall success of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze financial records, systems, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Support month-end close processes and prepare financial statements
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Reconcile accounting discrepancies and resolve financial imbalances
- Maintain and support the general ledger across all areas
- Provide guidance and training to accounting and finance team members
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and reporting
- Contribute to process improvements and ongoing efficiency within the finance function

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory costing
- Proven experience leading or supporting accounting teams and operations
- Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audits
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel
Compensation package:
- Competitive salary: $80,000 – $90,000
