About the Role
The City-County Information Technology Commission (CCITC) is seeking an experienced IT Analyst 2 – Security to join our Information Security team. In this role, you will focus on designing and implementing security solutions, supporting critical systems, and ensuring the integrity of our technology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a cybersecurity professional who thrives in a collaborative setting and values continuous learning.
Location: Hybrid Work, three days in office.
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt, Salary Range $94,764.80 to $104,624.00
Should we hire a candidate with fewer qualifications, we’d consider starting them in an IT Analyst – Security position with a Salary Range of $82,784.00 to $91,374.40.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and administer comprehensive information security tools and solutions.
- Always maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Develop, execute, and monitor security controls to safeguard information, networks, and data systems.
- Understand business processes and balance operational needs with appropriate security technologies.
- Identify security weaknesses and recommend standards to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
- Create clear procedures and provide training to staff to ensure compliance and awareness.
- Monitor systems for irregular activity and recommend preventive measures to mitigate risks.
- Advise IT staff on security standards during new project implementations and provide general consulting support.
- Assist in preparing capital and operating budgets for security-related systems.
- Stay current on emerging threats, new technologies, product offerings, and industry standards.
- Participate in on-call schedules for incident response as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible cybersecurity experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of NIST 800.53 framework, ISO standards, and FIPS 140-2.
- Cybersecurity certifications are preferred.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional site visits.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, network infrastructure, Windows operating systems, and virtualization platforms.
