Job Description:
Summary
The IS Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing small- to medium-sized technology projects, as well as targeted work streams within larger, more complex technology projects.
Projects may include:
- System enhancements
- Web-based technologies
- Application upgrades
- Server and operating system updates
- Technology implementations supporting new service lines or departments
- Other technology initiatives as assigned
The IS Project Manager manages all phases of assigned projects and ensures project deliverables are achieved within established deadlines, standards, and cost targets. This role serves as a liaison between business and technical teams and applies a broad understanding of Information Systems concepts, practices, and procedures.
Project Management Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage technology projects from initiation through completion.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple IS teams and stakeholders.
- Manage project scope, timelines, deliverables, and cost targets.
- Ensure project standards, requirements, and deadlines are met.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Coordinate work with other IS professionals to support successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide excellent customer service to leaders and staff across the organization.
IS Project Management Office Support
In addition to managing individual projects, the IS Project Manager supports processes and initiatives within the IS Project Management Office, including:
- IS project management software applications
- Project Management policies and procedures
- Project Management Portfolio
- IT Governance
- Other PMO processes and initiatives as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of five years of Information Systems implementation experience.
Certifications
- PMP certification preferred.
Additional Responsibilities
The IS Project Manager develops and maintains effective working relationships and communication with IS leaders, IS staff, and leaders and staff throughout the organization. Assumes other duties as assigned.
