Role Overview

As an Information Security Risk Specialist, you will assist military leaders in discovering their cyber risks, understanding applicable policies, and developing mitigation plans. You will gather technical and personnel details from subject matter experts to assess the threat landscape. This role provides an opportunity to build experience in a strategic information security role while developing skills in cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, including full lifecycle implementation across all RMF steps.
• Apply Navy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cybersecurity directives.
• Manage and own Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
• Utilize eMASS and ACAS for analysis and prioritization of scan results.
• Develop and maintain hardware and software inventories.
• Conduct vulnerability management using SCAP, VRAM, and HBSS.
• Review, interpret, and enforce Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) using STIG Viewer.
• Manage Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM).
• Develop and support Security Assessment Plans (SAPs) and Security Assessment Reports (SARs).
• Operate in a structured and compliance-driven environment with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's of Science degree is required.

Experience: 5+ years of experience leading and executing Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Technical Skills: A current DoD 8140 (Security +, CISSP, etc.) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Master’s degree is preferred.
