Department Overview
The HUD Closing team facilitates the closing and funding of FHA/HUD-insured loans, coordinating with underwriting, production, borrowers/clients, internal partners, HUD personnel, and internal and external counsel to ensure smooth, timely, and compliant customer service. HUD Closing is also responsible for helping ensure compliance with HUD program requirements, lender policies, and transaction-specific closing conditions, while exercising quality control over data and documentation provided to HUD, investors, warehouse lenders, and internal groups such as accounting, servicing, asset management, and loan funding.
The Impact You Will Have
As a HUD Closing Analyst, you will provide closing support to the Closing Officers with a particular emphasis on data management, due diligence review, and document preparation.
Primary Responsibilities

Verify Davis Bacon Wage Rates for all active HUD construction loans.

Prepare reconciliation of application fee and third-party costs.

Generate income notice and prepare audit packages.

Effectively communicate with borrower/property manager to outline what repairs should be completed prior to closing and become familiar with USFA and ADA compliance requirements.

Work with title agents to collect and verify wire instructions for loan funding purposes.

Create HUD’s pay.gov documentation for approval, submission, and payment.

Ensure data in WD internal systems is complete and accurate.

Generate closing documents for review by Closing Officer and prepare accounting packages and bank packages for funding.

Prepare Kyriba entries and submit for 1st level approval.

Prepare escrow analysis for tax and insurance escrows.

Ensure that data in Salesforce is complete and accurate throughout the process.

Set up Servicing Deliverables folder within 48 hours of closing. Follow up with counsel if documents are not received by required deadline.

Generate Ginnie Mae Assignment documents for warehousing purposes.

Review closing documents obtained from outside counsel for accuracy and completeness.

Prepare, submit and follow up on any HUD refund requests.

Accurately populate Ginnie Mae data systems with project deal terms for MBS generation.

Work with external legal counsel to clear all Ginnie Mae exceptions on a monthly basis.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

1+ years of experience in the corporate workforce preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work as a part of a team, while providing a strong individual contribution.

Analytical skills to evaluate data quickly, make decisions based on imperfect data, and take action in order to assist the team in moving its transactions forward .

Excellent judgment and dependability, including the ability to meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Working knowledge of Salesforce, Box and Ginnie Mae Enterprise software is beneficial.

Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.

Willing to travel to company sponsored events, as required.
This position has an estimated base salary of $55,000-$60,000 plus discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
