You will help develop and embed a proactive, intelligence-led risk management framework that enables the bank to achieve its goals safely and soundly.
As a leader in our Financial Crime Risk Department, you’ll make an impact by:
- Developing and implementing the strategic direction for financial crime risk management.
- Providing expert advice and effective challenge to the first line of accountability to uplift our overall financial crime risk management maturity.
- Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of dedicated risk professionals.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk identification.
About the Role
The Head of Financial Crime Advisory and Training reports to Chief Compliance & Financial Crime Officer (and MLRO).
- is to protect BEN from regulatory, reputational and financial risks by providing expert advice, guidance and training on AML/CTF, Sanctions, Fraud, ABC and FATCA/CRS (collectively, the Financial Crime Ecosystem).
- Act as the "front door" for Financial Crime Risk, providing expert advice and guidance to all business units and ensuring they have the information required to execute their obligations.
- Provide robust, independent challenge and oversight of the effectiveness of the Bank's financial crime control environment
- Lead engagement on financial crime risk assessments and advise on the risk impact of new business initiatives, products, channels, and customer types.
- Design, develop, and oversee a suite of enterprise-wide and role-specific financial crime training programs to uplift capability and awareness across the Bank.
- Ensure all training programs remain current with the evolving regulatory landscape and industry best practices.
- Collaborate closely with leaders across Financial Crime Risk and Financial Crime Operations to ensure the sustainable delivery of all financial crime programs
What you’ll bring to the role
Essential
- Expert knowledge and demonstrated understanding of financial crime risk management (2nd Line) and the risk environment within financial services.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, drive change, and foster a proactive risk culture.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing enterprise-wide financial crime training frameworks and systems.
- Exceptional ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and provide effective challenge up to the executive level.
- Skilled in overseeing financial crime risk throughout the change lifecycle, providing commercial judgment on new initiatives.
- Strong understanding of business continuity to help the business manage and learn from financial crime incident
Highly desirable
· Post-graduate studies in Risk or Law
· Professional qualifications are highly desirable e.g. ACAMS, CFA, AFCS
