Job Description
Overview
Northwest Federal Credit Union is seeking a creative, strategic, and collaborative Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team. This individual will be responsible for developing compelling visual communications across a variety of platforms including print, web, and social media. The designer will help bring NWFCU's brand to life through design solutions that drive engagement, support business objectives, and connect with members in meaningful ways.
This role requires a versatile and skilled creative who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is passionate about storytelling through both static and dynamic formats.
Responsibilities
- Design print and digital materials including brochures, flyers, ads, infographics, signage, and more
- Produce high-quality visuals for websites, landing pages, email campaigns, social media platforms, and digital screens
- Design branded signage and display graphics for events, branches, and community engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams and departments (e.g., Foundation, HR, Retail, Lending) to deliver on-brand creative support for diverse initiatives
- Maintain and evolve the NWFCU brand identity, ensuring creative consistency across all touchpoints
- Create branded templates for PowerPoint presentations, electronic forms, and internal documentation
- Organize and maintain a digital asset library for all creative files, videos, and photography
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for creative campaigns and marketing initiatives
- Stay current on design trends, industry tools, and emerging technologies
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
- Photograph and capture video footage at events or branch locations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- BA/BS degree in Graphic Design or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in both print and digital design; demonstrated experience with multimedia production
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro or After Effects)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Portfolio of design work is required for consideration
- Ability to work effectively on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters and equally effectively remotely
- Must be able to work the hours of M-F 8:00am-4:30pm
Preferred
- Photography and photo editing experience
