The Geographic Information Systems Analyst 2 (GIS Analyst) turns geographic data into insights that help children and communities thrive. UCLA’s Data Informed Futures team is seeking a GIS Analyst to prepare and analyze geospatial data, maintain high-quality spatial databases, and create maps and web-based products that support research, community planning, and action. You will collaborate with technical and nontechnical partners, translate complex data into understandable map products, and contribute to a national initiative focused on identifying and addressing geographic and social inequities in children’s health and development.
This is a limited position that may convert to career.
Salary Range: $33.09 - $65.77 Hourly
Job Qualifications

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
- Working knowledge of GIS software, applications programming, database and table structure and design, user interface and experience design and web application development.
- Demonstrated project management skills. Understanding of cartographic skills to create spatially explicit map products
- Interpersonal skills to work well with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Self-motivated, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.
- Must pass a background check
Preferred:
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience.
