What You Will Do

As a General Engineer at Collins Aerospace, Power and Controls, you will help coordinate the Power and Controls, Engine Control Systems (ECS) engineering efforts in support of the Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engine Programs. As a General Engineer for the chief’s office for the commercial engine programs, you will be involved in working with numerous product lines, functions across programs along side our engineering office to be responsible for the technical execution of all engineering activities within the commercial engines business. This is a highly visible role, and you will have the opportunity to work not only within Collins engineering functions but also coordinate with the customer (Pratt & Whitney).

• Represent Engineering in the Large Commercial Engines product lines
• Manage overall program milestones and deliverables though tracking IPT’s to commitments.
• Coordinate overall program technical communications internally and externally.
• Ensure all technical scope changes are properly coordinated with the Product Line Leaders
• Communicate effectively (verbally and written) to Product Lines, Management, and the customer
• Drive world class reliability through fleet monitoring and field investigations / Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action activities
• Maintain fleet reliability metrics.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Master’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in Project Engineering or Program Management & leading cross functional teams within a matrix organization.
• Experience with Controls Systems on commercial turbo-fan engines is desired.
• Experience in design, development, and certification of control system hardware.
• Experience or background in systems engineering.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
