Job Description:
Who is Recruiting from Scratch:
Recruiting from Scratch is a premier talent firm that focuses on placing the best product managers, software, and hardware talent at innovative companies. Our team is 100% remote and we work with teams across the United States to help them hire.
Company Stage of Funding: Seed (~$6M raised)
Company Description
Our client is an early-stage fintech infrastructure company building a modern platform for global money movement using stablecoins. Their mission is to enable faster, cheaper, and more reliable cross-border transactions for large B2B companies across the US and Europe.
The company is founded by repeat founders with prior experience building and scaling products at leading fintech companies. They have already built the core product, secured early customers with meaningful transaction volume, and recently raised ~$6M in seed funding from top-tier investors.
With a small, high-caliber team and strong early traction, this is a rare opportunity to join at the inflection point between product completion and scale—owning foundational systems in a mission-critical financial platform.
What You Will Do
- Own full-stack development end-to-end, from architecture to production
- Design and build highly reliable systems for global payments and transaction processing
- Develop event-driven systems for ledgering, compliance, and risk management
- Work directly with customers to understand requirements and iterate on product features
- Build and maintain APIs and integrations for financial infrastructure
- Make key technical decisions across backend, frontend, and infrastructure
- Balance speed and scalability while shipping production-ready systems
- Use modern tools and AI-assisted development workflows to improve velocity
- Collaborate closely with founders on product direction and technical strategy
- Help define engineering culture, processes, and hiring standards
Ideal Candidate Background
- 3–8 years of experience in full-stack or backend engineering
- Strong experience building production systems end-to-end
- Prior experience at a startup or high-growth environment
- Experience working on payments, fintech, or compliance-related systems
- Comfortable working across multiple languages and frameworks
- Strong system design and architecture fundamentals
- Experience integrating APIs and building scalable backend systems
- Proven ability to take ownership and ship quickly
Preferred
- Experience at fintech or payments companies (e.g., Stripe, Coinbase, Adyen, etc.)
- Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or ledgering systems
- Experience working directly with customers or product stakeholders
- Strong product intuition and ability to prioritize based on user needs
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor)
- Background from top-tier startups or strong technical environments
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $220,000 – $280,000
- Equity: 0.1% – 1.0%
- Visa sponsorship available (case-by-case, preference for US-based candidates)
- Hybrid work flexibility (SF-based)
- Direct collaboration with experienced repeat founders
- Opportunity to build core financial infrastructure from the ground up
- Early-stage equity with meaningful upside
Why Join
This is a rare opportunity to join a fintech startup at the exact moment where product meets scale.
You’ll work directly with experienced founders, own critical systems handling real transaction volume, and help define the future of global payments infrastructure.
If you’re a high-agency engineer who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to build mission-critical systems from scratch, this role offers both impact and upside.
