This position directly supports the Risk Management Division's mission by supervising the Video Coordinators (VCs) tasked to provide videos for the public disclosure, subpoenas and other uses and providing high level support to the Agency's Public Records Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively review VC work products. 
  • Builds and sustains workplace culture of teamwork. 
  • Sets and manages performance expectations. 
  • Provides day to day feedback and support. 
  • Plans and assigns work. 
  • Conducts performance evaluations regularly. 
  • Holds employees accountable for successful performance. 
  • Directs implementation of program procedures. 
  • Monitors workflow and volume of each subordinate. 
  • Directs implementation of program procedures. 
  • Handles leave requests. 
  • Acts as liaison to section/division meetings. 
  • Develops unit goals and objectives, implements and coordinates them to ensure compliance with state law. 
  • Creates and maintains unit procedure manual. 
  • Sets and adjusts unit priorities in alignment with the strategic plan. 
  • Identifies problems and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Analysis of program data. 
  • Formulates video management program procedures to ensure compliance with the law. 
  • Provides data information in support of RMD's SAF.

Travel Requirements: 

Some travel may be required, and is typically local or regional, to meet with clients, conduct business, or attend or provide training.

Schedule: 

Standard business hours are Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the incumbent may be expected to adjust the work schedule to meet business needs.  A flexible work schedule will be considered at the incumbent's request, subject to supervisory approval.

This position is expected to understand and administer the laws applicable to video processing/redactions/withholding and exercise skill in doing so. The position generally assists others in analyzing when video is responsive to an inquiry/issue.

Travel Requirements:

Some in-state travel may be required for training, testimony, etc.Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Washington State Driver's License or able to obtain one within 30 days of employment and is required due to potentially testifying and training. 
  • One year experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. 
  • One year experience of working with Public Records

Conditions of Employment:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment polygraph examination and background investigation.

Other: 

  • This position works in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while performing multiple tasks and assisting customers.
  • This position is required to meet deadlines by prioritizing tasks and ensuring accuracy.

Physical Abilities: 

  • Have the ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer keyboard;
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing;
  • Must have the ability to relocate up to 40 pounds of materials such as archive boxes.
  • Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time;
  • Ability to access items stored over head, or on lower shelves, and in drawers.
