Compensation: $55– $65 / hour
Work Schedule: M–F, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager – Tax to support U.S. tax operations within a complex, multi-entity environment.
This role partners closely with senior tax leadership and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely tax compliance and reporting. The position is ideal for a tax professional who thrives in a structured, accountable environment and can independently manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- include overseeing federal, state, and local income tax compliance; supporting quarterly and annual tax provision processes under ASC 740
- managing tax-related financial reporting and reconciliations; and coordinating closely with an external tax advisory firm to review deliverables, manage information requests, and ensure deadlines are met.
- This individual will also monitor state tax requirements, track tax account activity and payments, support audit inquiries, and maintain organized tax calendars and documentation.
- Additional responsibilities include contributing to process improvements, supporting internal controls in a SOX environment, and building effective cross-functional relationships across accounting and finance teams. Limited international indirect tax exposure may be involved.
- The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, particularly in state and local taxation, and is comfortable operating in a role that requires organization, analytical thinking, and the ability to determine priorities with minimal oversight. This is a highly specialized tax role and is not suited for a general finance background.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of corporate tax experience
- Strong experience with ASC 740 tax provision
- Deep knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance
- Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment
- Ability to manage external tax advisors or outsourced providers
- Accounting or Finance degree required
- Preferred:
- CPA (active, inactive, or in progress)
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or large regional firm)
- Exposure to VAT/GST or international indirect taxes
