Our Opportunity
This is a significant opportunity to support the Siemens EDA business (formerly Mentor Graphics) within Siemens Digital Industries Software. The role will lead the implementation of key communication strategies for EDA Product Segments and leadership. The role will be the key point of contact for internal communications and presentations at executive levels, as well as external material coordination across multiple segments. The EDA Communications Business Partner will report directly to the Head of Executive & Culture Communications.
Your Key Responsibilities
Executive Communications Support
- Serve as the primary coordinator of executive communications, including external events (conferences such as DAC, DVCon, DesignCon; peer forums, customer engagements) and internal events (Learning Days, Town Halls, team messages).
- Collaborate closely with EDA business leadership to tailor and refine communication materials.
- Craft visually appealing and impactful presentations that convey complex technical and business ideas in a simple, clear manner.
- Maintain a list of critical presentation needs and ensure timely preparation and delivery.
- Act as the point of contact for communication support requests directed to EDA leadership.
- Manage and curate executive social media presence to enhance visibility and engagement within the EDA community.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with EDA segment peers, including IC Design, IC Verification, PCB & Manufacturing, System Design, Design for Test, and Emulation & Prototyping.
- Work with DI SW functional partners such as Finance, People and Organization, Sales and Services, Strategy and Marketing, and Technology Office.
- Understand key message requirements, objectives, and audience, and effectively communicate these messages to customers in the semiconductor, electronics, and systems design markets.
- Research EDA market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to gather data for inclusion in communication materials.
- Cross-Segment Communication Alignment
- Coordinate EDA cross-segment messaging workstream to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Provide indirect guidance and support to EDA marketing leads and teams.
- Develop templates to ensure a consistent 'look and feel' across all communication materials.
- Coordinate the use of consistent terminology (e.g., maintaining a data dictionary of common technical and business terms).
- Develop and maintain a central repository for curated content to support communication efforts.
Your Key Success Factors
- 10+ years of experience in executive communications, public speaking, marketing (and/or electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science with some combined background in communications/marketing).
- Bachelors Degree required
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories through concise yet complete visuals.
- Proven ability to work effectively with senior executives.
- Strong knowledge of EDA products, semiconductor design flows, or electronic design automation.
- Background in the semiconductor, electronics, or EDA/software industry. EDA industry experience and knowledge is highly valued and strongly preferred.
- Expertise in Microsoft tools, particularly PowerPoint and Teams/SharePoint.
- Enthusiasm for the iterative process and achieving impactful results.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills at a program level.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple segments or business units, preferably on a global scale, requiring both direct and indirect influence.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with product marketing and analytics.
- Certification in communication, marketing, or related fields.
Location and Travel
Portland, OR, Wilsonville, OR, or Santa Clara, CA are the preferred west coast locations, with on-site coordination with EDA leadership via a hybrid format being ideal. Other U.S. locations will be considered, with a strong preference for the U.S. West Coast and Pacific time zone. Expected travel is up to 25%, both domestic and international.
