Role Overview
As an Editorial Project Manager , you will play a pivotal role in understanding market needs and challenges to develop impactful products and services within your portfolio. You will provide strategic editorial leadership by setting a vision, collaborating with subject matter experts, managing budgets, integrating market feedback, and ensuring product effectiveness. This role requires strong collaboration with marketing, sales, production, and operations teams.
You will drive the continued development of your catalog, supporting the sales and marketing teams in your region to identify and prioritize market opportunities, address customer challenges, and respond to competitive dynamics. Working closely with the sales, marketing, and customer insights teams, you will contribute to the launch of our products to the market.

Key Responsibilities
Editorial project management:
- Develop expertise in the themes of your catalog and the corresponding market.
- Maintain a balanced, profitable and current catalog that meets market needs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with authors and experts in the disciplines covered.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales & Marketing, and Strategy teams to create innovative products that improve learner outcomes.
- Stay informed about developments in the digital and AI field to contribute to the evolution of Pearson's offering for higher education.
Market research and customer insights:
- Conduct market research to understand the evolving needs of teachers and learners.
- Identify and assess key challenges for teachers and learners, ensuring product development is aligned with real needs.
- Evaluate market opportunities by analyzing competitor offerings, customer feedback and industry trends.
- Conduct problem-solution and product-market fit testing to refine offerings.
Strategy and innovation:
- Develop a deep understanding of your region's higher education landscape and its evolving challenges.
- Monitor and respond to industry trends, customer feedback and innovation opportunities.
- Use data-driven insights to inform product development and decision making.
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide relevant market insights and support new business opportunities.
Go-to-market and customer experience:
- Ensure a seamless customer experience for the digital products in your catalog.
- Lead market development initiatives for new digital products, fostering a community of early adopters.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.
- Act as a passionate advocate for your catalog internally and externally.
Required skills, knowledge and experience
- Completed university studies or equivalent experience.
- Native French speaker, with fluency in English.
- Good understanding of editorial project management principles and processes.
- Experience in the field of education and learning, preferably in higher education.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make informed decisions independently.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in market research methodologies such as surveys, focus groups and data analysis.
- Experience in customer engagement and networking.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a strong sense of empathy for learners and teachers.
- Experience in digital content development and instructional design will be an asset.
