Cell Press publishes over 50 scientific journals across life, physical, earth, and health sciences. We bring editorial excellence, commitment to innovation, unparalleled reach, visibility, and passion to all areas of scientific exploration.
About the Role
Cell Press launched the journal Device in 2023 as a home for applied research that supports tomorrow’s cutting-edge technology. The disciplines and expertise needed to build devices that positively impact human lives are diverse. As such, Device has rapidly become established for highly impactful research across applied physics, computer science, chemistry, biology, engineering, and other fields, as they apply to driving integrated, purpose-driven applications.
We are now recruiting an Editor-in-Chief to lead Device through its next chapter. The role provides a unique opportunity to continue developing and shaping the journal, leading the editorial team according to the successful candidate’s creative vision. As a respected member of the research community within the journal’s scope, the Editor-in-Chief will ensure Device continues to develop as an influential journal grounded in a strong understanding of the needs of the global authors, readers, and reviewers it serves.
This is a full-time editorial position. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. There are strong advantages for candidates willing and able to be based near one of our offices in Boston, Massachusetts; New York or Philadelphia, United States; London or Oxford, United Kingdom; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Munich, Germany; or Beijing, Shanghai, or Shenzhen, China. We can offer some flexibility in location.
If hired in the United Kingdom, this role is included in the pay bargaining unit represented by the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Please submit a cover letter with your application to be considered for the role.
