As part of its broader enterprise transformation, DICK’S is investing in a data-driven approach to modernizing how inventory is forecasted, allocated, and fulfilled across stores, distribution centers, and digital channels. This initiative focuses on building intelligent decision-making capabilities leveraging predictive analytics, optimization models, and real-time data to improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory flow, and drive enterprise-wide decisions that support profitable growth and enhance the athlete experience.
The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to serve as a strategic legal advisor to enterprise Product, Technology, Data, and Operations teams. The role provides practical counsel on large-scale merchandising, inventory optimization, and digital transformation initiatives.
You will support one of DICK’S Sporting Goods’ most significant enterprise transformation efforts, helping shape the future of retail operations, inventory management, and omnichannel commerce. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of AI, data, and operations, with direct impact on how DICK’S optimizes inventory and delivers for athletes.
You will partner with senior leaders to shape governance and risk frameworks for emerging technologies, while influencing a business-critical initiative from the ground up.
Working across law, technology, data, operations, and business strategy, you will act as the legal architect for innovative solutions that redefine how products move through DICK’S ecosystem. You will support the full lifecycle of product and technology development, including innovation, data governance, AI adoption, enterprise systems, and commercial transactions.
This role also requires advising on legal, regulatory, and operational risks related to technology, data, pricing, and AI, while enabling business objectives through pragmatic risk management. You will negotiate complex agreements, support enterprise governance frameworks, and collaborate cross-functionally with Privacy, Regulatory, IP, Brand, and Commercial Legal teams to deliver integrated legal guidance and scalable processes.
