Job Description:
About the Opportunity
A leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier is seeking a Cyber Underwriter to join its growing Cyber Liability practice. This is a fully remote opportunity for an underwriting professional with experience evaluating cyber and technology risks while developing profitable broker relationships.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of underwriting experience, including cyber liability, technology E&O, or management liability products, and will be comfortable underwriting both new business and renewals in the middle market and large account segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and renewal Cyber Liability accounts in accordance with company guidelines and profitability objectives.
- Analyze cybersecurity controls, industry exposures, financials, loss history, and overall risk characteristics to determine pricing, terms, and capacity.
- Evaluate complex cyber exposures, including ransomware, business interruption, privacy liability, network security, and regulatory risks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokers to drive profitable growth.
- Negotiate coverage, pricing, deductibles, and policy terms with trading partners.
- Manage an assigned portfolio while maintaining underwriting discipline and achieving growth objectives.
- Monitor market conditions, emerging cyber threats, and industry trends to support underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with claims, actuarial, product, legal, and cybersecurity teams to support business strategy.
- Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and ensure compliance with internal guidelines.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 4 years of commercial underwriting experience.

At least 2 years of Cyber Liability underwriting experience preferred.

Strong understanding of Cyber Liability coverage and policy forms.

Preferred Experience
- Carrier, MGA, or specialty insurer underwriting experience.
- Experience handling middle market and large account risks.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, incident response, and emerging cyber threats.
- Industry designations such as CPCU, RPLU, ARM, or CISSP are a plus.
- Experience working with retail and wholesale brokerage partners.
