Job Description:
About Nimbl
Nimbl provides the departments a business needs to scale, all under one roof.
Most growing companies stitch together accounting, IT, global staffing, and strategy across in-house teams and multiple vendors. It works, until growth creates friction. We bring those functions into one coordinated system, so businesses can scale without losing clarity or control.
With 100+ team members across the U.S., Philippines, and Latin America, we operate as one aligned team serving ambitious business owners. We build infrastructure that creates freedom: freedom to focus on what matters, freedom to grow without chaos, and freedom to step back when the time is right.
Inside Nimbl, that same principle applies. We offer remote flexibility and real autonomy, paired with clear accountability, leadership development, and room to expand your impact.
Freedom here isn’t about comfort. It’s about progression.
If you’re serious about growth, for clients and for yourself, you’ll find it here.
The Position
As a Client Accounting Manager based in Latin America, you will be the face of the company to our clients (from the comfort of your own home or wherever you choose to work). That means we are looking for the best of the best. While accounting will be part of your daily routine, most of your time will be spent interacting with clients and overseeing bookkeepers.
Responsibilities:
-
Build and maintain excellent client relationships
-
Lead video calls with clients in English
-
Handle high-level client opportunities including scope increases, business challenges, and advisement on improving financials and streamlining processes
-

-
Create processes and schedules for maintaining all financial statement accounts, including full accrual
-
Oversee and improve routine processes like month-end close
-
Handle complex and non-routine processes, such as:
-
Reconciling fixed assets, debt schedules, deferred revenue and/or, prepaid schedules to financial statements
-
Perform moderate to advanced cleanups and new client onboarding with support
-
Maintaining revenue recognition schedules
-
Making inventory/COGS entries
-
Set up and run payroll
-
Prepare financial reports
-
-
Train and coordinate the work of bookkeepers, consultants, and other financial professionals
-
Review financials and processes produced by other team members
Working Hours:
-
The role is a full-time (40 hours/week) independent contractor position.
-
Includes 2 weeks of paid time off and 8 paid holidays provided under our working agreement (holiday schedule will be agreed upon at hire - you can choose US holidays or your local holidays - and documented as part of your working agreement)
-
Must have at least 4 hours of daily overlap with US Mountain Time between 9am–5pm MT (Mon–Fri) and flexibility for additional overlap to accommodate meeting schedules.
-
Client meetings typically occur during US business hours
Our Requirements (In Rough Order of Priority):
-
Advanced English proficiency (written + spoken) required. This is a client-facing role with US-based clients; you’ll lead calls, write client-ready emails, and document work in English
-
Reliable remote setup: Stable high-speed internet, quiet workspace suitable for client calls, and ability to use Zoom/Google Meet with camera/audio (equipment will be provided to you by the company)
-
Client-facing communication: Demonstrated experience leading client meetings, setting agendas, and communicating accounting topics clearly to non-accountants
-
Comfortable working with confidential financial information; able to comply with security policies (MFA, password manager, device encryption, locked screen, secure Wi-Fi)
-
Willing to complete a background check
-
An innate desire to serve people, especially business owners
-
An obsession with meeting deadlines and keeping agreements
-
A problem-solver who works independently with minimal oversight
-
A minimum of 6 years of experience in small business accounting (US experience preferred), such as:
-
Categorizing transactions
-
Reconciling bank accounts
-
Making accrual adjusting entries
-
Reconciling fixed assets
-
Maintaining debt schedules
-
Preparing and analyzing financial statements
-

-
Ability to self-teach and develop proficiency with a variety of technology and software
-
Comfortable delegating and overseeing routine work by digging into business processes, troubleshooting a problem, or giving training
-
Comfortable working in Slack and a task management system, and documenting workflows (SOPs/checklists) in a remote environment
-
Experience with US business income tax and sales tax returns (bonus, but not required)
Compensation:
Starting between $24,000.00 - $48,000.00/year USD depending on experience. This role is an independent contractor position paid in USD, direct deposit through Gusto at the end of each month. You are responsible for local taxes/benefits. Pay increases will be directly tied to quality and efficiency, including the ability to create systems and lead less experienced bookkeepers.
