Business Development Manager – Media Data and AdTech
Location: Hamburg or Nuremberg, Germany, or Remote within Germany
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote or Hybrid — 2 days per week in the Hamburg or Nuremberg office

Salary: €54,500–€65,000 gross annually + potential performance or sales-related bonus
Travel: Approximately 25% for customer appointments
Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an ambitious team and make a significant contribution to expanding NielsenIQ's (NIQ) presence in the media sector – with clients such as media agencies, social media agencies, and media providers. The role is particularly suitable for candidates who want to develop their skills and grow in a dynamic environment.
General conditions:
- Location: Hamburg or Nuremberg, or remote
- Focus: Germany (managing my own client portfolio)
- Work model: Hybrid (2 days/week in the office in Hamburg or Nuremberg, or remote)
- Full-time
- Travel activity: approx. 25% for personal client meetings
As part of the Commercial Team, you will be responsible for the sales of media usage data, advertising effectiveness solutions, and audience activation products based on NIQ consumer, retail, and cross-media panel data. Your focus will be on developing and implementing strategic sales plans, building sustainable customer relationships, and increasing revenue through Data-as-a-Service solutions. You will support clients in optimizing their audience targeting, media planning, and campaign measurement using NIQ data.
We are looking for a sales-oriented, self-motivated individual with experience in the digital and data environment who proactively explores new business opportunities, acts flexibly, and works successfully both independently and as part of a team.
Main tasks:
- Building and developing new business opportunities with agencies, publishers and advertisers
- Management of the entire sales cycle (pitches, pipeline, RFI/RFPs, pricing, offers, contract negotiations)
- Active pipeline management and consistent follow-up of opportunities
- Consulting sales for the precise positioning of NIQ solutions (data, insights, advertising effectiveness, target group activation)
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and growth
- Close collaboration with internal teams (Commercial, Product, Client Success)
- Creating compelling presentations and supporting customer development
- Achieving or exceeding sales targets in accordance with company guidelines
Qualifications:
- Experience in sales/business development (ideally media, ad tech or data)
- A good understanding of media planning, media buying, target group data, and measurement solutions.
- Proven sales success as well as strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in offer and pricing as well as pipeline management
- Analytical thinking skills and the ability to translate data into concrete recommendations for action.
- Independent and team-oriented work style in a dynamic environment
- Proficient in MS Office; CRM knowledge is an advantage.
- Relevant academic degree desirable
- Network in media/social agencies (ideally at senior level), programmatic/data contacts are an advantage.
- Fluent German and English skills
The annual gross salary for this position ranges from €54,500 to €65,000. The specific salary level depends on relevant professional experience, qualifications, skills, and internal compensation structures. In addition, this position may offer an attractive variable compensation package with significant bonus potential, for example, in the form of a performance- or sales-related bonus.
