Job Description:
Our client, a Banking company, is looking for a Business Analyst(Mortgage) for their Charlotte, NC/ Greenville, SC/ Mount -Laurel, NJ/ Atlanta, GA/ME/ Remote location.
Responsibilities:
- The Business Analyst I is responsible for supporting day-to-day business operations through data analysis, reporting, control monitoring, process oversight, and customer-focused support. This role requires a combination of analytical, technical, and operational skills, with the ability to review business data, identify trends or potential issues, monitor the execution of established controls, and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders.
- The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Power BI, experience reviewing and interpreting operational reports, and familiarity with mortgage servicing, mortgage operations, or other financial-services processes. The position also requires strong customer service and communication skills, as the analyst may interact directly with internal and external customers to research questions, resolve concerns, and support business objectives.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to identify trends, exceptions, discrepancies, and potential areas of risk.
- Monitor the execution and effectiveness of established business controls and ensure required activities are completed accurately and within established service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify potential control gaps, process breakdowns, or operational concerns and escalate findings to management when appropriate.
- Assist with documenting control execution, maintaining supporting evidence, and tracking corrective actions or process improvements.
- Utilize Power BI to review dashboards, analyze performance metrics, monitor trends, and communicate business results.
- Utilize SharePoint to maintain documentation, organize business information, support workflow activities, and manage access to shared resources.
- Collect, review, and analyze business data to support operational decisions and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations that communicate findings, trends, risks, and recommendations to business partners and leadership.
- Support mortgage-related processes and apply working knowledge of mortgage operations, documentation, servicing, or related financial-services requirements.
- Research and respond to customer inquiries while providing timely, professional, and accurate service.
- Interact with customers and internal business partners to gather information, clarify concerns, research issues, and facilitate resolution.
- Track open items, exceptions, and identified issues through completion while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures, process maps, job aids, and other operational documentation.
- Participate in process-improvement initiatives and provide recommendations based on data analysis, customer feedback, and operational observations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and other business stakeholders.
- Perform additional analytical and operational responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in business analysis, operations, financial services, mortgage operations, reporting, customer service, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including the ability to navigate dashboards and interpret reporting and performance data.
- Experience reviewing operational reports and identifying trends, exceptions, or discrepancies.
- General understanding of business controls, control execution, risk management, or quality-assurance processes.
- Must be comfortable with customer interactions able to engage .
- Demonstrated customer-service experience, including the ability to communicate professionally with customers and business partners.
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a deadline- and SLA-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Previous mortgage, lending, banking, or financial-services experience preferred.
