As a Behavioral Health Representative I, you will play a vital role in supporting our on-site Behavioral Health providers and ensuring that our patients receive the compassionate care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange language line interpretation services to ensure effective communication.
  • Sort and dispense mail and faxes efficiently.
  • Assist new patients with registration, ensuring a smooth intake process.
  • Manage EHR and continuity of care lists to optimize patient care.
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments to maximize provider availability.
  • Maintain a waitlist for Behavioral Health Services to fill open slots promptly.
  • Process and follow up on internal service orders, including psychological testing referrals.
  • Obtain and record vital signs accurately and promptly in EHRS.
  • Screen new patients and complete necessary risk assessments.
  • Provide translation services for monolingual providers as needed.
  • Attend mandatory all-staff meetings to stay informed and engaged.
  • Complete reminder calls to ensure patient compliance with appointments.
  • Process prior authorizations for psychological testing and medications.
  • Manage phone communications, including voicemail retrieval and provider notes.
  • Offer data entry and general office support for Behavioral Health at the clinical site.
  • Assist with triaging behavioral health emergencies in accordance with BH policies.
  • Perform medical tasks such as blood draws, injections, and EKGs if qualified.
  • Process lab service orders in EMR for patient care coordination.
  • Provide cross-coverage and travel to other locations as needed.
  • Foster a professional and courteous environment for patients and staff.
  • Promote effective team relations to achieve departmental goals.
  • Participate in safety training and understand job-related hazards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BLS (CPR & AED) Certified required
  • Three to six months of related experience preferred
  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • Familiarity with BH preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Good direct and telephone communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a team setting
  • Leadership ability for program management, growth, and development within the Center and the Community
  • Communication/interpersonal skills to interact courteously and professionally with associates and customers of various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interact effectively with various community agencies and resources
  • Coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
  • Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking preferred
