Lunch Roll is a joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment in the United States and Aniplex, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Inc. in Japan (both companies are part of the Sony Group Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo).
Regarding job duties
As Associate Producer I, I will report to the Senior Producer of the animation co-production team.
We are currently recruiting applicants for positions at our Tokyo office.
This position involves working closely with producers and senior producers, and being responsible for the co-development and production of anime content in collaboration with production partner companies.
Our mission is to attract new fans from around the world and maintain their continued interest through compelling stories and high-quality animation, and to create works that introduce a new genre to the global anime community.
This position will support the identification and securing of strong co-production projects, contributing to increased viewership, new subscriber acquisition, and revenue growth for Crunchyroll's lineup. Furthermore, you will collaborate with other departments, including marketing and consumer products divisions both domestically and internationally, to ensure the success of each project.
This job requires practical knowledge of content creation and rights management.
Main responsibilities
- We will report to the production committee on Crunchyroll's marketing strategy, monetization strategy, viewer trends, and sublicensing status.
- The production committee will approve the marketing and promotion plan, the use of IP and rights, and the planning of consumer products.
- Manage and coordinate materials for collaborative projects and provide timely support to the U.S. marketing department and other internal teams as needed.
- To ensure clear and accurate communication between the production committee and Crunchyroll, we will translate key documents.
Eligibility requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience (experience in the animation industry is a plus)
- Experience in anime content production and rights management.
- They possess high creativity and initiative, are not bound by preconceived notions, and have the ability to implement new and efficient procedures.
- Experience in managing and coordinating materials for collaborative projects.
- Possessing strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to prioritize and complete tasks within a tight schedule.
- They possess excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
Regarding departments
While Crunchyroll is widely recognized for its content acquisition, it has also established itself as a key distribution and investment partner in the Japanese anime industry. The Co-Production Team is a division of the Content Team and focuses on collaborating with external partners in the production of anime works. The team's strategic focus is on strengthening Crunchyroll's title lineup and contributing to the growth of the anime market across all regions where the service is available.
