At nib, we're committed to delivering better health outcomes through smart, data-led decisions. As an Actuarial Manager, you'll play a critical role in shaping strategy, influencing performance, and providing trusted advice across the business.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Actuarial, you will lead key actuarial deliverables and partner with stakeholders to provide commercially focused, risk-aware insights that drive decision-making.

This is a high-impact role suited to an experienced actuarial professional who enjoys combining technical depth with business influence.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality analysis to inform strategic and operational decisions

  • Develop and maintain robust actuarial models and frameworks

  • Contribute to regulatory reporting and submissions (APRA, premium filings, ICAAP)

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members

  • Maintain strong documentation, controls and governance practices

  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver clear, commercially relevant insights

About you

You bring strong technical capability combined with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across the business. You are comfortable working autonomously, balancing competing priorities, and translating complex analysis into actionable outcomes.

What you'll bring

  • Degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or similar

  • FIAA (or equivalent)

  • Strong experience in financial and regulatory reporting

  • Advanced analytical, modelling and programming capability

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Highly regarded:

  • Private health insurance experience

  • Exposure to stress testing, capital frameworks or ICAAP

  • Familiarity with APRA standards

We know some people only apply when they meet every requirement. We're always on the lookout for curious individuals who will add to the culture - so if this role resonates with you and you have relevant experience, we'd love to hear from you!
