The opportunity
We have an opportunity for an experienced Actuarial Manager to support the Consumer business, which is core to the overall QBE AUSPAC strategy. As an Actuarial Manager you will lead a team of Actuarial Analysts and Senior Actuarial Analysts. The core responsibilities will include reserving, budgeting and enabling the actuarial control cycle through enhancing connections with strategic decision makers, for a dynamic suite of products including Householders, Strata and Private Motor.

Your new role
A day in the life of an Actuarial Manager may look a little like this:
- Manage team of Actuarial Analysts and Senior Actuarial Analysts to deliver against objectives and business requirements
- Translating strategic objectives into clear priorities, providing direction and support to enable strong performance
- Oversee and review quality controls and standards throughout processes
- Data Innovation to connect reserving outcomes better to strategic decisions, thus enabling benefits of a robust actuarial control cycle
- Identify new opportunities for simplification and drives efficiencies
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders
- Present clear and well organised analysis to appropriate audiences
About you
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar Actuarial Manager role with a focus on General Insurance and Reserving. You will also have:
- Proven experience leading and developing teams of Actuarial Analysts
- Strong working knowledge of the Property and Casualty insurance space
- Experience in actuarial analysis, reserving techniques, and predictive modelling
- Proven record of communicating technical analysis to key stakeholders to make commercial decisions
- Fellowship of the Actuaries Institute (or equivalent international qualification)
