The Role
We are currently seeking a full-time Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer to join our well-established team. Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for a range of key tasks essential to the business's success. This includes the end-to-end accounts payable process, accounts receivable for our commercial services division and maintenance of bank reconciliations as required.
This rewarding and challenging position is a key role in assisting in the management and operations of the organisation’s financial records and accounting system.
Key responsibilities will include:
Accounts Payable
-
Maintain new supplier documentation and enter new suppliers
-
Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders and receipts in the system

Process staff reimbursement claims
-
Verify that expense invoices and reimbursement claims are properly authorised
-
Ensuring all supplier invoices are correctly processed and paid on time
-
Processing of fortnightly payment runs
-
Sending out supplier remittances
-
Credit card reconciliations
-
Reconciliation of payments with supplier statements
-
Ensuring expenses are captured in the correct time period at month end
-
Ad hoc administration
Accounts Receivable
-
Customer maintenance and database management
-
Invoice processing and management for the customers
-
Debt collection for accounts receivable customers
-
Receipting and bank reconciliation as required.

Debtor reporting
Banking and Credit Card Reconciliation
-
Perform routine banking transactions and credit card reconciliations
-
Investigate and resolve discrepancies within established procedures
-
Maintain accurate reconciliation records and supporting documentation
-
Ensure payments and receipts are accurately recorded and reconciled
Month-End and Reporting
-
Assist with month-end financial processes including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
-
Prepare routine financial reports and provide supporting documentation
-
Assist with preparation of BAS, FBT, and financial acquittals under supervision
-
Contribute to process improvements and support implementation of financial systems
Your success will be ensured by:
-
A minimum of 3 years general experience in an accounting role including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Bank Reconciliations

Intermediate skills in Excel
-
Experience managing shared email folder, ideally Outlook
-
Attention to Detail
-
Good verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload to achieve objectives

Excellent numerical skills
Desirable
-
A tertiary business qualification is desirable but qualification by experience is acceptable

Experience using Greentree Accounting Software
